Exhibition Hall

The Exhibition Hall of the National Library of Georgia is located in the historic building of the former State Bank, constructed in 1910 based on the designs of Mikhail Ohandzhanov and R. Golenishchev. The building was transferred to the National Library in 1987 and is considered one of the finest examples of art nouveau architecture in Tbilisi.

Conference Hall (National Flag Hall)

Renamed the National Flag Hall in 2020, this space displays the original five-pointed star flag and printed reproductions of medieval European nautical maps, where European cartographers used five-pointed stars to mark the territory of Georgia.

Independence Hall

Opened in 2018, the Independence Hall presents unique and historically significant materials from the National Library’s collections, including the commemorative badge and charter of Queen Tamar of the Georgian Legion; original Georgian state symbols (anthem, coat of arms) from the 1918–1921 edition of the Constitution of Georgia; drafts of the Act of Independence; maps of Georgia published in 1921; manuscripts, archival documents, and photographs depicting the events of April 9.

Exhibition Hall of Georgian Writing

Opened in 2025, this hall showcases the evolution of Georgian writing from ancient times to the modern era. The floor mosaic replicates that of the Bagrati Cathedral in Kutaisi. The hall features a carved wooden door depicting Vakhtang VI and Anthimoz Iverieli.

Rezo Gabriadze Cinema Hall

In 2021, the National Library auditorium was renamed the Rezo Gabriadze Cinema Hall. The hall is equipped with modern audiovisual technology and is suitable for: • Film screenings • Presentations • Public lectures • Cultural events • Business meetings Copies of posters from films based on Rezo Gabriadze’s scripts are displayed on the walls.
