April 30 marks Librarian’s Day in Georgia. Since 2003, this professional holiday has celebrated the dedication of librarians, many of whom have served the field for several decades.
On April 30, 2026, at 12:00 PM, the National Library of Georgia will host representatives from various regional libraries. The event will feature congratulatory remarks from Konstantine Gamsakhurdia, General Director of the National Library; Mirian Khositashvili, Deputy General Director; and other distinguished public figures.
In accordance with established tradition, outstanding librarians from across Georgia’s library network will be honored with awards for their professional excellence.
As part of the ceremony, libraries from every municipality in Georgia will be presented with a selection of new publications from the National Library, as well as books published with the support of the Ministry of Culture
