Film Show at the National Library

The National Library Anglo-American Reading Hall invites the public to show of the film titled ‘History of Western Art’ by Robert Carruthers at the Auditorium of the National Parliamentary Library on 11-18 May at 18:00.

 

The film consists of six parts; each of the series lasts 30 minutes. The following series will be shown on 11 May: ‘Light in the Darkness: Gothic Art’, ‘A New Dream: the Renaissance’ and ‘The Age of Splendor: the Baroque Era’.

 

This series by Robert Carruthers presents a unique and masterly survey of the greatest achievements in the history of art from the medieval era to the post-impressionist world. The historians and art historians narrate the story of creation of masterpieces and art movements in the historical context.

 

‘Reason and Enlightenment: the Rococo Era’, ‘Passion and Revolution: Romanticism’ and ‘A New Vision: Impressionism’ will be shown on 18 May.
