In the exhibition hall of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, there were presented 56 works – posters and photos, winners of the Best Works on Gender-Based Violence contest. The artists were awarded with prizes. The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign (November 25-December 10) was held within the UNFPA-implemented project “Combating Gender-Based Violence in the South Caucasus”, in collaboration with local governmental, non-governmental and international organizations, Embassy of the French Republic in Georgia and with further support of the Advisory Council on Gender Equality under the Chair of the Parliament of Georgia.
The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign has been held in Georgia for several years now. The campaign aims at eliminating all forms of violence against women, and raising public awareness of women’s rights issues. Over 2.000 organizations in approximately 154 countries have participated in the 16 Days Campaign since 1991!
