On May 15, Abasha Municipality celebrated the anniversary of the iconic Georgian writer, Konstantin Gamsakhurdia.
The event was attended by a delegation from the National Library of Georgia, led by General Director Konstantine Gamsakhurdia. T
he General Director and the Mayor of Abasha, Giga Gabelaia, honored the writer’s memory by laying a wreath at his bust. The commemoration continued at the writer's House-Museum in Dzveli Abasha, featuring a special exhibition on his life and literary legacy curated by the National Library.
During the gathering, Konstantine Gamsakhurdia highlighted the author's legacy:
"Born in 1891, Konstantin Gamsakhurdia synthesized national spirit with European intellectual traditions. Despite facing immense Soviet ideological pressure, he safeguarded his creative integrity. Today, his works stand as a brilliant example of spiritual resistance, national dignity, and cultural identity, infusing the Georgian language with profound philosophical depth."
The event concluded with a welcoming speech by Mayor Giga Gabelaia.
