Conference Hall of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia hosted the presentation of Irina Gabiani video art Reflections on 3 September 2010 at 18:00.
Irina Gabiani graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Art (Painting and Drawing Department, 1990-1994) and Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Art, Amsterdam (Free Direction Department 1994-1996, Jewellery Department 1996-1997).
Her works are exhibited at a number of European galleries and museums of modern art; held in private collections and state museums in various countries. She has been awarded the following prizes:
2008 Third International Art Prize Arte Laguna Sculpture Best foreign artist,
2008 Third International Art Prize Arte Laguna Sculpture Virtual Jury Prize,
2008 8° Premio Nazionale d’Arte Citta di Novara Video III prize.
The subject of Irina Gabiani’s artistic research is the universe with its complexity and elegance. "Mankind is a part of a unique system that consists of countless interconnected phenomena. Apparently, human beings’ only purpose is to find their place and establish themselves in this system. Only in such case they become harmonious parts of the system” – says Irina.
Irina Gabiani gave her work titled Micro world to the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia as a present.
