Meeting with Paul Crego

The National Library of Georgia hosted Paul Crego, a representative of the Library of Congress. The delegation was received by Konstantine Gamsakhurdia, General Director of the National Library.

Paul Crego has long been instrumental in fostering professional relations between the Library of Congress and the National Library of Georgia. He is actively involved in curating and expanding the Georgian collection within the Library of Congress, ensuring the international visibility of Georgian literature and scholarship.

During the visit, the National Library presented several significant gifts to the Library of Congress, including historical publications and newly issued editions. Among the donations were materials concerning the library’s history, as well as the unique, large-format volumes from the series published by the Book Museum, featuring reprints of historical periodicals.

The meeting emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the two institutions, specifically in the areas of digital resource sharing and the preservation of cultural heritage.
