Musical evening dedicated to Batu Kraveishvili

Kraveishvili’s distinguished voice charmed a wide public. During the 30 years of his artistic life, he played plenty of leading roles of the opera repertoire at the Georgian Opera Theater. He died at the age of 56.


10 years ago, Batu Kraveishvili’s family granted a major part of his collection to the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia. On December 17, in the exhibition hall of the National Library, there were displayed most of the materials, among them photos, pictures of the famous singer, programs and posters of performances, orchestral scores as well as graphic portraits of Batu Kraveishvili by the famous Georgian artist Lado Gudiashvili.


Representatives of the Georgian culture, singers, artists, and students attended the event. The guests had the possibility to listen to the records of the great singer and attend the live concert by contemporary opera singers.
