National Library Receives Valuable Gift from Historian Peter Skinner

The National Library has received a significant gift from Mr. Peter Skinner, a British-born American historian and longtime friend of the library. Mr. Skinner, the author of numerous works on Georgia, generously donated a valuable collection of English-language publications on Georgia and the Caucasus, many of which were previously unknown to the Georgian public. Over the years, he carefully selected and collected these materials, which will now enrich the library's collection.

Maia Simonishvili, a representative of the National Library personally, curator of the Anglo-American Reading Hall  visited Mr. Skinner in New York, where he handpicked the donated books. . The library extends its deepest gratitude to Mr. Skinnerr for his loyal friendship and generous contribution. The books have already arrived at the National Library, are currently being processed, and will soon be available to readers. Their transportation was made possible by the company Gdalco, led by Gocha Darchiashvili, to whom we extend our sincere thanks.

Special appreciation also goes to Marita Damenia, Rusudan Vashakidze, Eter Chkadua, and Keti Gochashvili for their valuable support in making this project a success.

Thank you!
