The National Library has received a generous donation from Peter Skinner, a British-born American historian and longtime supporter of the library. Known for his extensive research on Georgia, Skinner has gifted a rare collection of English-language publications on Georgia and the Caucasus-many of which were previously unknown to the Georgian public. Over the years, Mr. Skinner meticulously curated these materials, which will now become a valuable addition to the library's collection. Maia Simonishvili, curator of the Anglo-American Reading Room at the National Library, personally visited Mr. Skinner as he carefully prepared each book for donation. The books have already arrived at the National Library, where they are currently being processed and will soon be available to readers. A special thanks goes to Marita Damenia, Rusudan Vashakidze, and Eter Chkadua for their invaluable assistance in preparing the archive. Additionally, we appreciate the support of Gdalko, led by Gocha Darchiashvili, for ensuring the safe transportation of these important literature. This generous contribution will significantly enhance resources available to researchers, students, and history enthusiasts interested in Georgia and the broader Caucasus region.
