The presentation of a new poetry collection “Poetry 2008-2013” by Giorgi Kekelidze will be held at the Writer’s House (I. Machabeli St. 13) on 26 March, at 19:00. Laureate of the premiums  Saba (for compilation “The Odes”, 2009), Gold Feather and Mushvig International Premium, founder of the first Georgian digital library lib.ge (2006-2012), the General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia (2012-).

“Poetry 2008-2013” is the fourth compilation by Giorgi Kekelidze. This is a summary of works created for the last five years. According to the author of the preface, Zurab Kiknadze, “in the present compilation containing works created for five years, Giorgi Kekelidze, remains dedicated to his beliefs, vocation, passion and calling.

Several years ago, the author of these words had the chance to express his impression verbally about the poet’s previous compilation “The Odes”. It seemed as if the poet was writing about one thing while the readers understood another. This was the general impression that was refreshed by just brief reading of the new compilation. Writing about one thing that is read differently later is a destiny of poetry that cannot be avoided by the poet creating genuine poetry. It’s just the same now. But this word does no more express the reality, and the gained impression, as imprint, now refers to ontology, going beyond hypocrisy and intention.

The author can say: “it is not what I wish, but this is what really is…I follow, but not just follow…but I am made to follow, to rely on the flow of the language. His trust to language is absolute in “Poetry 2008-2013”.
