The National Library Donates Books to Displaced People

On 15 February, the meeting with displaced people was held in IDP settlement in the village of Gori region, Khurvaleti, war-affected border region. The event was held within the framework of the project „Assistance for IDPs; Civic Education and Inclusion”, envisaging the inclusion and integration of the displaced people in the society.

Mirian Khositashvili, Deputy General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia and other representatives of the National Library donated over 300 books to the displaced people of Khurvaleti IDPs settlement. Representatives of the International Charitable Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia handed church calendars and Patriarchy editions.

Giorgi Volski, head of Georgian Dream parliamentary faction, Soso Vakhtangishvili, Gori region majoritarian MP, Papuna Kobaeridze, Head of Gori Municipality, Dima Jaiani, Minister of Education and Culture of Abkhazia took part in the meeting.

The project was organized by the U.S. Embassy, the Instrumental ensemble “Bravo”, the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, the International Charitable Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, executive and legislative authorities, representatives of NGOs and local self-governance.
