On November 23, at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, the former Prime Minister of Spain Jose Maria Aznar, and his former colleague at the Spanish Cabinet Ana Palacio met students at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia.
The guests delivered a public lecture dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
‘Spain is the country that did away with dictatorship and, in the 90s, Spanish students showed the world that Spain was one of the founders of the European civilization’, stated Mikheil Saakashvili.
At the same event, by the decision of the Academic Board of Ilia Chavchavadze State University, Jose Maria Aznar and Ana Palacio were awarded Honoris Causa for their contribution to the European politics.
