Representatives of the National Library of Georgia are attending the 61st International Art Exhibition — the Venice Biennale.

As part of the visit, the General Director of the National Library, Konstantine Gamsakhurdia, and the Director of the Library Resources Department, Levan Takhtakishvili, visited the Library of San Francesco della Vigna in Venice. They were accompanied by Gaga Shurgaia, Associate Professor at the University of Venice and an expert in Church history.

"We met with the Director of the library, Friar Rino Sgarbossa. The meeting with our Italian colleague was highly significant. The Library of San Francesco della Vigna preserves valuable manuscripts from the 14th and 15th centuries, over 100 incunabula, and approximately 40,000 rare editions printed before the 19th century," stated Konstantine Gamsakhurdia.
