Henryck Hryniewski Hall to Open at the National Library

The Hall of Polish Art and Literature named after Henryck Hryniewski (1869-1938), a Polish painter, opens in the first building of the National Library on 5 November at 18:00. The walls of the hall were painted by Henryck Hryniewski, this is the most distinguished place at the National Library.

Giorgi Kekelidze, the General Director of the National Library, will open the event. The opening  ceremony will be attended by Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Mikheil Batiashvili, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Shimon Shinkovski Wel Senk, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Marek KuchciƄski, the Chairman of the Lower House of the Parliament of Poland, Mariusz Maszkiewicz, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Georgia, Dorota Janyevskaya Yakubayak, the Director of the National Institute of Polish Cultural Heritage Abroad.

The restoration and renovation of the hall and unique wall painting have been implemented with the support of the Government of Poland and Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Georgia. The hall is completely renovated and it will house the literature about art as well as polish editions from the collections of the National Library. There also be arranged a reading hall where people interested in Polish culture and literature will have the opportunity to work.
