The group of poets Tsisperkhantselebi (The Blue Horns) established the Poetry Day which was to be celebrated annually on May 7th since 1920. Unfortunately, a beautiful tradition was another victim of Soviet occupation and repressions. The National Library of Georgia revived the Poetry Day which is celebrated annually on May 7th.
In 2022 the Poetry Day is dedicated to Serhiy Zhadan, a Ukrainian poet, writer and songwriter nominated for the Nobel Prize in literature.
