Aporte Alexandre was introduced to Georgia at the end of the XIX century. But has not gained much importance. Single trees are met everywhere in Georgia.

The fruit is very large, rather handsome in appearance, with a yellow ground colour, nearly all over covered with red stripes.

The crop ripens for use in october-november.

As to flavor, Aporte Alexandre belongs to the kitchen sorts.

It is not accepted in the commercial assortment for Georgia, remaining here an amateur sort.
