Parker’s Pepin is largely distributed exlusively along the coast of the Black sea, in Guria, Mingrelia, Adjaria and Abkhasia. In the other districts of western Georgia it is less frequent and has no commercial importance, while in Eastern Georgia it can be found only in the quality of a pomological rarity. Parker’s Pepin is the sort chiefly satisfying the demand of the population of western Georgia and of the watering places.It is also exported to a considerable amount to other towns situated on the coast of the Black sea

Parker’s Pepin is one of the leading sorts in old as well as in new plantations of the excessively humid distrects. The fruit is of medium size or small, oval spheric in shape, well attaced to the stem. Skin firm,smooth, thin, covered which gray russet dots.

When ready for harvest the fruit has a gray-ashy colour, from which derives its Georgian name Natzara. Generally it is not affected by spots of scab. Ripening for use the fruit takes a yellowish colouring.

The flesh is of a creamy colour, sufficiently soft and sweet, not aromatic, in storage often becomes mealy and loses the flavor, peculior to this sort.

During storage fruit easily become bitter; they ripen for use in oktober and remain on the market till December.

The peculiar features of this sort are: comparatively good cold resistace of the tree as well as of the flowers, early bearing, high productivity, low environmental requisits, good resistance to fungus diseases.

Parker’s Pepin is cultivated in the form of a medium stemed tree.
