In old Georgian plantations single trees of Wagner’s prize apple can be met everywhere, while in new plantations of some regions it is allowed at the rate of 3-8%, moreover, in 1933 the Champagne combinate’s Mukhrani Sovkhos planted this sort on 35 hectars.

The fruit of Wagner’s prize apple is of medium size, flattened-round, conspicuously ribbed, it holds well with a short stem and does not easily drop; Wagner’s prize apple is a heavy producer, the abundance of fruiting impairing the size of fruits.

With its dark-red covering colour, the apple is very attractive in appearance.

[[ფაილი:Vagneris jildo yvavili.jpg|thumb|left|100პქ|Flower of Wagner’s prize apple]]

The flesh is compact, whitish, sweetish acid.

As to quality, Wagner’s Prize apple belongs to the kitchen and table sorts.

Fruit ripen for use in December; keep without breaking down till spring.

The peculiar features of this sort are: good cold resistance, medium growth, low requisits to environment and agricultural engineering, early bearing, heavy productivity, high percentage of commercially acceptable fruits.

Wagner’s prize apple is not recommendable as a fundamental commercial sort for the principal commercially growing districts.
