With other foreign sorts of apple White Rosmarin has been a long time ago introduced in Georgia.

In old plantations, trees of white Rosmarin are met all through the horticultural districts of Georgia, especially in high Karthalinia and South-Ossetia, but regardless of the exquisite flavour and outstanding qualities of the fruit, in very restricted numbers, as this sort is very requisitive to environment.

In Karthalinia and South-Ossetia the product of White Rosmarin corresponds more or less to the high quality peculiar to this sort, but near Gori, down Karaleti, it leaves much to desire. The fruit becomes rough skinned, watery, without aroma, during winter storage undergoing inside fermentation, turning sour in inconsequence, and acquiring an alcoholic back-taste.

Under conditions of heavy soil and excessive humidity White Rosmarin produces very unsatisfactory fruits. Only in warm location, protected from wind, normally humid, on soils having a good physical structure and corresponding depth, receiving optimal nourishment, a comparatively good product may be expected.

For some districts of Georgia White Rosmarin is allowed in the commercial assortment at the rate of 3-8%.

The shape of White Rosmarin apples is flattened truncated conical.

Skin oily, thin, smooth but elastic, white, with a bluish marble mosaic, when fully ripe becoming yellowish white. Flesh white, tender, juicy aromatic.flavour exquisite. Fruit keep till late in winter (February). The biological peculiarities of White Rosmarin are: late bearing (after 14-16 years), early blooming, self steril flowers, with Kandil Sinap, Orleans reinette and Champagne reinette as good pollinators, relative hardiness, a pronounced tendency to periodical productivity, susceptibility to fungus diseases.

White Rosmarin succeeds well and gives a good product if grafted on M. praecox. The tree is not highly viable and requires frequent rejuvenation.

White Rosmarin is a very valuable amateur sort.
