The dictionary is supported by the National Library of Georgia.

The project aims at publishing the biographies of outstanding Georgians. We hope that whole Georgia will be involved in filling this unique dictionary.

Biography

გურიის მთავარი 1566-1583წწ. და 1587-1600წწ., როსტომ გურიელის ძე; მის დროს გურიის სამთავრომ შეიერთა საჯავახოს ნაწილი, ეგრეთ წოდებული "გურიის საჯავახო", ირან-ოსმალეთის 1578-1590წწ. ომის დროს, 1581 წელს, გიორგი II გურიელი იძულებული გახდა ოსმალებს დამორჩილებოდა და იმერეთის მეფესთან ერთად ქართლი დაელაშქრა; 1583 წელს მამია IV დადიანის მიერ დამარცხებული გიორგი II გურიელი სტამბოლში გაიქცა; 1587 წელს ოსმალთა ჯარის შემწეობით კვლავ გაბატონდა.
