K. Tatishvili. The Rite of David the Builder by Anton I Katholikos. - Mravaltavi - Tbilisi - 2001 - N 19 - Bibl. at the end of each article.

The article of K. Tatishvili "The Rite of David the Builder by Anton I Katholikos" presents the comparative analysis of the Rite with various historical sources. The Rite is given in Anton Katholikos' Feast Hymn Book (S1464). Anton was the first who wrote the Rite dedicated to King David. He also changed the Memory Day of Saint King transferring it from 25th to 26th of January. The article presents the following conclusions:

  1. Anton doesn't take into account the biographical details of the king David given in the book "The Life of King David".

  2. Anton doesn't use the information of Vakhushti Batonishvili's work "Description of Georgian Kingdom".

  3. The texts of "Tskhobilsitkvaoba" and the Rite are reflected the common mood.

  4. Phraseological similarity observed in "Prayers of Remorse" and Anton's Rite could be explained by the assumption that both of them are based on phraseological model of Bible.

  5. The synaxaric "Life of David the Builder" has no similarity with the text of Rite.
