Philosophy
Bechvaia D., Gvineria E.- Philosophical Basis for Modern Pedagogical Sciences. - Tbilisi - 2002 107 p. - Bibl. 63 - in Georgian.
Pedagogy is not only based on general methodological principles but it also gives concrete material for filling in the methodology principles. Hence the issue of methodology of pedagogy, as an independent science becomes urgent. According to the statements of the authors, the methodological base for the pedagogy is philosophy and not namely any definite trend of philosophy that existed in the nearest past. Philosophy, as the methodological basis of pedagogy for the authors implies the world, as one integral whole or any sphere of the world as the ontological, gnoseological or axiological problem. Pedagogy, proceeding from the specificity of its object of cognition specifies general issues of gnoseology, but the issue of essence of cognition itself exceeds the limits of its competence. Pedagogical science is guided by the general principles of theory of consciousness, which fall in the sphere of philosophical study.
The book considers the general philosophical directions in the light of modern pedagogical theories: axiology, existentialism, realism and pragmatism. All modern pedagogical theories are based on this or that philosophical direction. Representatives of philosophy of education use well differing philosophical directions, as the methodological bases in the sphere of education. It should be stated also that in the above stated theories we meet interesting advice, recommendation.
We should note also that philosophy of education (notwithstanding the fact we support this idea or not) as a pluralistic methodology for education exists, develops (and rather successfully) and its denial is not expedient.
