The book contains articles, in which the literary heritage of Georgian writers of the XX c. (M. Javakhishvili, Ch. Lomtatidze, N. Lortkipanidze, L. Kiacheli, R. Mishveladze, L. Sanikidze) is investigated in the specific aspect. Today a lot is being told about the necessity of new reading of Georgian literature. Due to the obvious reasons, such formulation, most of all, refers to the literary heritage of the XX c., where the entire horror of Bolshevistic tyranny has been reflected in an uncompromising and dramatic manner. Such literary works were interpreted by communist critics as required by the existing stereotype. National issues were under particular taboo.
In the articles, presented in Maya Dzigua's book: "Problem of Intellectuals in M. Javakhishvili's Novels", "New Reading of Woman's Burden", "Publicism of M. Javakhishvili", "National and Moral Problems in 'Haki Adzba' by Leo Kiacheli", "Feeling of Sense of Fatherland in Niko Lortkipanidze's Miniatures", creative work of these writers are interpreted in the light of national problems.
It is stated in the book that Georgian literature cannot be considered separately from European literary process. In this very aspect the Georgian writers are presented in the articles: "Stream of Consciousness in the Creative Work of Chola Lomtatidze" and "The Topic of Intellectuals in the Literature of the end of the XX c."
The articles "Human being through the Prism of Goodness" (short stories by R. Mishveladze) and "Dramatic Compositions of L. Sanikidze" are dedicated to our contemporary writers.
