As for the theme of Don Juan itself he relies on German edition of "Either-or": Soren Kierkegaard, Entweder-Order, Teil I und II, Munchen, 1996. Kierkegaard considers Mozart as "immortal" composer exactly because he created opera Don Juan which to his mind exceeds all other operas and compositions of Mozart. In Don Juan the philosopher puts emphasis on "demonic" music which the hero of the opera uses for seducing women and satisfying his sensuality. The sound, the voice is the element through which Don Juan conquers hearts of thousands of women. It is enough to deprive him of musicality and he immediately resembles Faust who can seduce only one virgin with the word. In his essay style the author widely reviews other writers as well, e.i. a story by Lev Tolstoy "Kreutzer Sonata" where music also has seducing role.
