Edelböhmer
Edelböhmer was imported in Georgia with other foreign sorts, but has not gained the importance it deserves. Single trees of this sort are met in high Karthli, white in Abkhazia it is represented still less. The product, when obtained, is highly qualified and much praised.
The fruit reminds in appearance that of the local sort Abilauri
It is medium size, flattened round in shape, very nice, does not shrivell in storage and keeps till late in Spring without losing its qualities. The crop ripens in October.
The biological peculiarities of this sort are: long vegetative period, relative hardiness, early and regular bearing, average requisits to environment, in conditions of humidity of the air susceptibility to scab and oidium.
The flavor of the fruits makes it fall into the class of first rate table sorts
Edelböhmer is admitted in the commercial assortment of Georgia.
It is one the best sorts for dwarf cultivation.
