Franch gray reinette

Franch gray reinette for the most part is grown in the excessively humid districts of western Georgia. It is know there under the name of „Natzara“, attributed in common to all the sorts with a gray colouring, such as Parker’s Pepin. Canadian grew reinette and French gray Ambour.

Parker’s Pepin differs from French gray Ambour in that it has smaller fruits of a yellowish gray colour and a straw yellow flesh keeping till December, whilst the French gray Ambour has larger fruits of a dark grey colour and a whitish yellow flesh, keeping till spring.

French reinette is characterized by the following peculiarities: good resistance to fungus diseases, low requisits to environment, abundant productivity, comparatively good qualities of the fruit and a very high susceptibility to the attacks of Laspeyresia pomonella.

So many valuable economical characters cause French gray reinette to be a good commercial sort for the humid districts of Georgia.
