Yellow Egg - it is an old European sort of plums the forms of which differ in the time of ripening.
Yellow Egg was imported in Georgia a long time ago but did not spread widely, being presently met in single trees in some of the districts.
It has the merits of large, handsome fruits, heavy productivity$ late blooming.
Fruits ripen at the end of August, are used fresh and serve for preparing compote. Among the defects of Yellow Egg are to be mentioned: susceptibility to Monilia and high requisites to environment.
