Plum sort Catherine, is widely distributed in Karthli, often under the name of Italian Hungarian (Gori, Mereti) or Ajanka, the nurseries, probably, having delivered it with an erroneous appellation.
Environmental conditions are perfectly suitable for the growing of this sort of plums. Trees develop well and yield abundantly. Fruits are dried. In sugar content the product approaches the prunes of Italian Hungarian, though in size and colour remaining back.
Crope ripens in the beginning of September.
