Amsden belongs to the group of American early peaches. It has been introduced in Georgia at the end of the XIX century presently being commonly met in the Gudauti, Sukhumi, Samtredia, Tkibuli, Kutaissi, Gori, Caspi and Tbilissi districts.
Among early peaches Amsden is the most widely distributed in Georgia; it is esteemed as a commercial sort giving early fruits of an excellent quality.
The merits of this sort are: early ripening, desirable size of fruit, nice colouring, for an early sort good shipping qualities, excellent flavour and a rather small semi-free stone.

The tree succeeds equally well in Western and Eastern Georgia, is relatively resistant to “leaf curl”, in the environment of Georgia is characterized by medium productivity.

Fruit ripen in the Samtredia district in midjune, in Eastern Georgia, in the beginning of July. Amsden is allowed at a considerable rate in the commercial assortment for watering places and suburban zones.
