Greensboro
Greensboro is an American sort of peach introduced in Georgia a long time ago, what is attested by its name being mentioned in catalogues of old nurseries (Brothers Avsarkissov), but not having spread very widely.
At present single trees of Greensboro are met in old plantations. This sort has the merits of vigorous growth, heavy fruiting, early bearing, relative hardiness to cold. Crope ripens after the one of Amsden.
Fruit of medium size, handsome in colour, only fair in flavor, shipping poorly
These defects put Greensboro at the second place in the assortment of early peaches.
