Bauman’s reinette

Bauman’s reinette is less frequently met when compared with foreign sorts introduced in Georgia. The greatest part of its trees is found in the horticultural districts of Karthalinia and Akhaltzikh.

The fruit is rather large , fresh in appearance, of a bright blood-red colour, covered with blooms, it is not susceptible to fusicladium, keeps till Spring, stands storage and shipping well.

This sort is characterized by early bearing and a rather abundant productivity, though tending to periodicity; it is not very much requisitive to environment; self-sterile in Georgia.

Bauman’s reinette has been included in the commercial assortment for several regions at the rate of 3-5%. It succeeds well on weak stocks and may be recommended for shaping on dwarfs.
