Dzudzua legvi
The name of Dzudzua legvi is attributed to a peculiar sort whose figs remind the shape of women’s breasts, whence its name, as „dzudzua“ in Georgian means breats. This sort is common in low Kakhetia.
Tree
The tree generally grows with one trunk having dense branches and dense foliage; the internodes are short what accounts for the density of the top.
Leaf medium in size. 17-18 cm. large, threelobed, with deep sinuosities in the higher lobes; the pulp of the leaf is thin with thin weins; petiole medium in size, sitting in a large sinuosity.
Fruit
Dzudzua legvi yields once a year.
The fruits for the most part are parthenocarpic, very small, 3-3,5 cm. in size, elongated in shape, narrowing towards the top, wide at the bottom.
Stem very short, greenish in colour.
Skin very thin, greenish-yellow, veined dark green.
The pericarps with rather large seeds fill up interjor of the fruit.
The fruit are good in flavor, very tender, sugary and aromatic, but because of their small dimensions not showy.
They are especially adapted for pastry, jam and preserving but not acceptable for drying.
