Kuraga
In Georgia the appellation of Kuraga is generally attributed to seedlings of Pr. Armenica.
This trees of Kuraga are scattered through all the districts of Eastern Georgia, being there much more common, than those of cultivated sorts of apricots. The forms of Kuraga are greatly variable, differing in time of ripening, fruit size and skin colour.
Among these seedlings such forms are interesting which have a sweet kernel in the stone (№ 1, 2, 3) known by the population under the hame of „Kaissi“.
The size of their fruits as well as the quality of flavor make these sorts quite usable for commercial growing.
The fruits of Kuraga are canned or used fresh.
