The name of Shpanka is attributed to some forms of the sour cherry beioging to the class of Amorels.
The Atlas gives an illustration for one of the most common forms of Shpanka, which is a heavy producer, ripening its crop in midjuly.
The fruit is of medium size, round in shape.
Skin dark red. Flesh slightly coloured. Used mostly fresh.
