Red winter Calville is not so common in Georgia as Red Fall Calville. It can be met in Karthli represented by single specimens.
Though not a favourite, it has more merits when compared with the other, its fruits are larger, more brightly coloured, more showy, incomparably better in flavor; its keeping qualities are very good (fruits keep till the beginning of spring) whilst in productivity both are nearly alike.
On account of its valuable economical qualities Red Winter Calville ought to be inserted in the commercial assortment for Georgia at the rate of 2-3% and largely recommended.
