Hortense

In the districts of Georgia Hortense is met in single trees. It is a hybrid between a sweet and sour cherry. The fruits are used fresh.

Large, handsomely coloured, well flavoured fruits constitute the merit this sort, while low productivity regardess of heavy annual blooming- its defect. This fact may be accounted for the absente of a good pollinator, the time of blooming for Hortense – being too early for other sort of cherries.
